Each October we do a class read of Harry Potter. This LA unit is when the students learn to enhance their descriptive writing skills. Although it is an in-class read novel, it would be highly beneficial for the students to follow along with their own copy. By having a novel to refer to, the students are able to use the book as a research guide, not just using their listening skills. The Teacher Pay Teacher gift card is for the purchase of comprehension reading units and supplementary materials for the Wonders-Language Art curriculum. Of course, science is what life is all about, therefore one must make it exciting. The cloud apparatus and posters are to see what is happening visually. The climate model will follow science standards 6.3.2 and 6.3.3. Students will be able to investigate and model the earth's atmospheric systems and patterns of weather. Last, the craft sticks are for the many STEM projects that the students do, both as a class and as fast finishers. For instance, they have built aqueducts for Ancient Rome, swinging bridges for an engineering project, catapults for ancient Greece, Newton's Cradle for physics, and many more.
