The kids have had a wonderful time this year earning prizes. Through the PAWs (Positive Action Witnessed) program, students earn points and have been enjoying spending them on prizes. \r\n\r\nPAWs are so helpful to our classroom and help us hold on to routines and keep class manageable for everyone. \r\n\r\nEvery day when the bell rings, students can earn PAWs if they are all silent and ready to learn, which they have been doing most days. They also earn PAWs so helping each other and being compassionate. This week I've given PAWs to students who helped others catch up after absences, students who supported classmates through difficult personal times, and students who brought up awesome questions in class to help us all learn. \r\n\r\nPAWs really help us be our best and the prizing are the cherry on top. These rewards may seem small, but in our classroom, they carry great significance. They symbolize hard work, perseverance, and the power of believing in oneself.\r\n\r\nEvery day, I see how positive reinforcement transforms the atmosphere in our classroom. Some of my students face challenges that make school difficult — whether it's academic struggles, social pressures, or circumstances beyond their control at home. Having something tangible to work toward, like a small prize, a privilege, or a simple token of recognition, can make a big difference. These incentives help students set goals, stay focused, and most importantly, build confidence in their own abilities.\r\n\r\nSince receiving your support, I've seen students light up with pride when they earn rewards for meeting classroom goals or showing growth. One student, who used to be hesitant to participate in class discussions, now volunteers eagerly after earning a few small rewards for her effort and courage.
