We have been using the supplies to create a small, discreet hygiene area where students can access what they need independently.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their reactions were immediate and heartfelt. One of my students said, \"Finally! I'm so glad we have this.\" That moment showed just how much this support was needed. After our school fun run, we were also able to distribute deodorant to students, which helped them feel fresh, confident, and ready to continue learning without embarrassment.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped normalize conversations around personal hygiene and growing bodies. Students are gaining confidence and learning how to take care of themselves in a respectful and age-appropriate way. This has already had a positive impact on their focus, participation, and overall comfort at school.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we will continue to incorporate these supports into our daily routines so students can access what they need without hesitation. As we build independence and responsibility in the classroom, these resources play an important role in helping students feel prepared, respected, and ready to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1778052423647,"projectUrl":"project/essential-care-for-confident-learners/10264416/","projectTitle":"Essential Care for Confident Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Michaud","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3093177_orig.jpg?crop=2587,2587,x0,y189&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1565382604379","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3093177"},{"teacherId":3093177,"projectId":9619817,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom project! Because of your donations, we were able to purchase four sets of novel study books that are already making a big impact. We recently began reading The First Rule of Punk, and it has been incredible to see our students connect with the main character as she navigates her multifaceted identity and embraces her multiracial background. To make the experience even more engaging, our teaching team dressed up as punk rockers for Halloween, and the students' reactions were priceless! Your contribution has helped us create meaningful, creative connections that spark joy and deepen learning.\r\n\r\nWe are excited for all the learning ahead as the year progresses. Next up, we'll be diving into A Whale of the Wild, exploring its rich figurative language and powerful themes. These books are opening doors for our students to see themselves in stories, think critically, and develop a love for reading. Thank you for making this possible.
