We use whiteboards all throughout the day in my classroom! Students use them during whole-class instruction to participate and stay engaged in lessons. With whiteboards, I can see exactly what they are working on and they can easily share their work with classmates. Unfortunately, our whiteboards are very old and do not erase well any more. Many are starting to fall apart, leaving some students without materials. Along with using whiteboards during instruction, students in my class typically select flexible seating options around the classroom rather than sitting at their desk all day. Clipboards will allow them to sit and work in many locations! By donating to our project, you will help give my students the opportunity to be more independent in discovering new words, work in flexible seating arrangements, and stay actively engaged in lessons. Along with whiteboards and clipboards, students will also be receiving dictionaries and thesauri. Currently, if a student wants to look up a word, they have to go to the library or ask someone else for help. Having full class sets of both resources will give students the freedom and ability to look up and discover new words independently.
