The materials from this grant have transformed a small area of our classroom into a peaceful, inviting space filled with tools to help students regulate their emotions and reset when they need it most.\r\n\r\nAlthough students haven't seen the space in person yet, I can already imagine their reactions. I'm confident they'll feel both surprised and cared for when they realize this space was created just for them. The cozy seating, sensory tools, and visual supports send a powerful message: \"You are safe, and your feelings matter.\"\r\n\r\nOnce the school year begins, we'll introduce the calm-down corner as part of our classroom culture from day one. The games are a wonderful early finisher or differentiated activity. The kids enjoy competing against each other which helps build their skills in a productive way. They can do this through the cards and matching games. The multiplication pop-its have been an amazing addition and can be used as differentiation that kids can take with them, and they love them! When they first saw the packages, we did an \"unboxing\" which they had a great time with. \r\n\r\nThe next steps for my student will be to use these materials to review for standardized testing in the spring.
