The students at Emerson are very enthusiastic about being able to continue feeding our neighborhood birds! The kindergarten classrooms are on a weekly rotating schedule to help fill the bird feeders. The students are always asking if it is their turn! They really enjoy being helpers! \r\n\r\nThe second grade teacher has a window bird feeder. The students get excited whenever birds are at the feeder, the teacher shared that it's a great way to get the students to focus. They're learning they need to be quiet if they want to see the birds eating at the feeders. I read the class a book about how to be a \"birder.\" They were very attentive and wanted to know more about the different types of birds in our neighborhood. \r\n\r\nWe are also looking forward to planting in our school garden in the Spring.
