These blocks are way more fun and interesting as they have sensory aspects such as sand, beads or small objects hidden within, compared to standard Legos or blocks. \r\n\r\nThe students love to request to use the various sensory bins that I got through donors choose as their break activity, and I see a lot of improved regulation as well as creativity begin to flow through their free play.\r\n\r\nPainting with Q tips and all the new paint colors that we have has been a very successful activity across various age groups from pre-k to 3rd grade. The coat rack has helped our mornings feel so much smoother. Students come in, hang up their backpacks and jackets on their own, and get started right away. It's such a simple thing, but it's really helped build independence and responsibility. The reward system (especially the claw machine!) has been a huge motivator. I've seen students stay focused longer, make better choices, and really try their best. \r\n\r\nWhen everything first arrived, they were SO excited. The claw machine was definitely the star of the show. It brought such a positive energy into the classroom, and I love seeing them cheer each other on now.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are focused on helping students take what they've been practicing and apply it more independently. We are continuing to build our classroom community and positive habits through our reward system.
