In our room, technology is helping students become active participants in their learning rather than passive listeners. The document camera allows me to instantly showcase student work so classmates can learn from one another's thinking in real time. Students gather together on the carpet to discuss strategies, ask questions, and build understanding collaboratively. Voice recording buttons are also helping students practice communication skills and share their ideas in ways that feel exciting and accessible, especially for students who may be hesitant to speak in front of the whole class.\r\n\r\nThe students are especially excited about being able to see and hear their own thinking shared with the class. They love using the reusable writing tablets because they can quickly draft ideas, revise their work, and confidently participate without fear of making mistakes. Materials like sentence strips, sticky notes, clipboards, and colored paper encourage students to organize and display their thinking in creative ways, making classroom discussions more interactive and student-centered.\r\n\r\nSome of my quieter learners have especially warmed to these new tools. Students who were once reluctant to raise their hands are now eager to record responses, share written ideas, or contribute through collaborative activities. These resources are helping every child feel seen, heard, and valued as part of our classroom community. Together, they are creating a learning environment where students feel confident expressing their ideas, learning from peers, and making their thinking visible every day.","fullyFundedDate":1776972900299,"projectUrl":"project/making-thinking-visible-together/10148200/","projectTitle":"Making Thinking Visible Together","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sullivan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9081659_orig.jpg?crop=3456,3456,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1774437178837","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9081659"},{"teacherId":3960502,"projectId":10152287,"letterContent":"Thank your for your donations. Your generosity has had a meaningful impact on my students and their growth as readers.\r\n\r\nBecause of your donations, my students now have hands-on tools that make learning to read engaging, interactive, and accessible. The phonics sound boxes and dry erase mats have been especially powerful in helping students physically manipulate sounds, which strengthens decoding and builds foundational reading skills in a concrete way. For many of my students, seeing and touching the sounds as they work through words has made abstract phonics concepts \"click\" in ways traditional paper-and-pencil tasks sometimes could not.\r\n\r\nThe reading games have brought so much excitement into our small group lessons. What is most exciting to my students is that these tools make learning feel like play. They are eager to participate, ask to use the materials again, and celebrate their successes with much more confidence. The classroom timers have also helped students stay focused and engaged during structured learning routines, giving them a greater sense of independence.\r\n\r\nOne of the greatest impacts of this project has been on students who have historically struggled with confidence in reading. Some of my most hesitant readers have especially warmed to the phonics materials and games because they allow them to take risks in a supportive, low-pressure way. I have seen students who were once reluctant to read aloud now volunteer to lead a sound-mapping activity or excitedly show off a word they decoded independently.\r\n\r\nThe laminating materials, binders, and sheet protectors have allowed me to create durable, reusable resources tailored to student needs, and the scanner has made it possible for me to quickly organize and differentiate instruction for each learner. These tools are helping me provide targeted support while ensuring students have repeated opportunities to practice and grow.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, your generosity has helped create a classroom where students feel successful, supported, and proud of themselves. You have not just donated supplies—you have invested in confidence, joy, and opportunity for young readers.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping them discover their potential.","fullyFundedDate":1776085173676,"projectUrl":"project/building-strong-readers-one-sound-at-a/10176082/","projectTitle":"Building Strong Readers, One Sound at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Velasco","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2789873_orig.jpg?crop=3456,3456,x0,y864&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730724238691","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-velasco423"},{"teacherId":2056724,"projectId":9976905,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom now has a printer, ink, and printer stand that are transforming how I can support my students in science! The printer has also been especially impactful for students who benefit from visual supports, ensuring every child can access and participate in science learning.\r\n\r\nYour donation has made science more engaging, accessible, and fun for all of our students.
