As an academic intervention services teacher for Kindergarten and first grade students in an urban charter school in New York, I work with students who are struggling in the classroom. Most of my students are behind grade-level benchmark. Some of the students have IEP's (Individualized Education Plan) and some do not. Some of the students have also been diagnosed with a learning disability. Traditional tools of learning (i.e. workbooks, story books) are not always effective for my students. They need tools that support the challenge they are facing but also help them master the concepts being taught in their classroom. For example, I have students who are struggling on specific phonics skills such as digraphs (ex: ch, sh. th) but also struggle with comprehension. There are limited resources in the classroom that can help the students but there are many applications such as "The Word Monsters" that can support studen
