While many donors are familiar with digital technology, these hands-on resources serve a very different purpose for my students with autism. The visual schedules, task cards, interactive notebooks, and manipulatives provide structure, clarity, and predictability—key elements many of my students need to learn successfully. These tools help break down academic and life-skills tasks into simple, visual steps, allowing students to engage and understand in ways traditional worksheets never allowed.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the tactile, interactive nature of the new materials. They love flipping Velcro pieces, matching pictures, sorting items, and assembling learning activities on their own. One student who previously had difficulty staying focused during lessons now eagerly completes his picture-supported tasks, showing a level of independence we hadn't seen before. Another student who often felt overwhelmed by written work has gained confidence using the differentiated, visually guided activities—smiling as she completes tasks that once seemed impossible. Thanks to your generosity, these paper-based resources have created a more inclusive, engaging, and empowering learning environment where every student can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1758898931646,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-success-back-to-school-curric/9648055/","projectTitle":"Tools for Success: Back-to-School Curriculum Fund","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lauren","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4762210_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504657949154","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4762210"},{"teacherId":5331683,"projectId":9829004,"letterContent":"Thanks to the generous support of donors, our food pantry has transformed into a reliable resource for students and families in need. For many of our students, hands-on experiences are the most meaningful way to learn job skills, but accessibility can sometimes be a challenge. This new equipment bridges that gap beautifully. Students who once struggled to fully participate can now contribute confidently, learning the same skills as their peers and taking pride in their work.\r\n\r\nThe technology built into the adapted shaker makes it easier for students with different physical abilities to operate the machine safely and successfully. It has also sparked tremendous excitement in the classroom — students are eager to take turns using it, experimenting with recipes, and seeing their creations come to life. You can see the pride on their faces when they complete a task independently.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular has really flourished with this new tool. Previously hesitant to engage in group projects, they now volunteer to demonstrate how the shaker works and encourage others to try it.
