With many new books in the classroom library, students are excited to read every day. This project has made a big difference because there is a book for every student, regardless of level, interests, and home language. \r\n\r\nStudents engage in independent reading daily. The new series books, like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, are class favorites. After reading the books, students are prompted to write a book review to guide their peers. Students have enjoyed these titles so much, that a few students chose to dress as Harry Potter and Percy Jackson for Halloween. You made this joy possible- so thank YOU!\r\n\r\nWith your support, the classroom library has been transformed into a comforting and accessible space representative of student identities, cultures, and interests. The new books brought a much-needed refresh to our shelves, and for the first time in a long time, we have full sets of series that students can enjoy in order!\r\n\r\nIt's been wonderful to see how much pride and care students are taking with these books. They are making sure each one stays in great condition and even holding each other accountable for returning them so everyone gets a chance to read. I can tell they truly feel the impact of your donation. There's a sense of ownership and gratitude in how they handle and talk about the books. Independent reading time has become a favorite activity. \r\n\r\nThe excitement has also sparked new reading habits. Students are sharing recommendations with one another and reaching for stories they might not have chosen before. Even my reluctant readers have been asking to pair up with a reading buddy to access the text. Watching them connect through reading and grow as a community of readers has been absolutely heartwarming.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible and for bringing such joy and inspiration to our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1753985756700,"projectUrl":"project/a-new-library-for-lifelong-readers/9404353/","projectTitle":"A New Library for Lifelong Readers!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Huang","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7896558"},{"teacherId":7948575,"projectId":9212663,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our \"Headphones for Future Content Creators\" project! The new headphones have already made such a difference in our classroom. My students use technology for so many parts of their learning — from recording their voices for multimedia projects to practicing listening comprehension — and these headphones have allowed them to focus, create, and collaborate in ways that weren't possible before.\r\n\r\nThe students are especially excited about using the headphones during our multimedia social studies activities. We specifically used an online platform called \"Mission US\", which allows them to immerse themselves in the past and learn history in an interactive way. They love hearing the voices clearly. We also used the headphones for an Ancient Egypt project. They used the headphones to help them focus and record their videos to introduce various aspects of Ancient Egypt. For many of them, this is their first time creating content that sounds \"professional,\" and it's been amazing to see their confidence grow as they take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nSome students who are usually shy about speaking in front of the class have really come alive with this new technology. One student in particular, who often hesitated to share during group discussions, now volunteers eagerly when it's time to record or narrate. The headphones have given her (and others like her) a sense of independence and creativity that truly shines.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students' voices — literally and figuratively. Your support has helped them feel like real content creators, and it's inspiring them to see themselves as capable, confident learners ready to share their ideas with the world.","fullyFundedDate":1747271779385,"projectUrl":"project/headphones-for-future-content-creators/9212663/","projectTitle":"Headphones for future content creators!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7948575_orig.jpg?crop=819,819,x0,y43&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1742998693140","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7948575"},{"teacherId":1990456,"projectId":8932776,"letterContent":"I can't describe how grateful we are for your donation to this project, for giving us the materials we needed to run the art classroom smoothly throughout the year.\r\n\r\nOur students LOVED using the newly refilled watercolors and paint sticks for making their masterpieces vibrantly colorful. The sharpeners we got were the biggest hit as they speed up the sharpening process five times so students can spend more time at working than preparing the colored pencils. Every time a new class sees the new sharpeners, they were amazed and wanted to use it. Even the adults (para) and other classroom teachers showed big interest in them. We love that new addition.\r\n\r\nAs we wind down toward the end of the school year with many events and student art exhibition, the materials are constantly being utilized in the best way, for creations.
