These non-fiction books were so important in bringing our social studies topics to life. Some of my most cherished memories as a classroom teacher involved read alouds. It was especially nice for each student to follow along with their own book in had. My co-teacher and I LOVED gathering as a class in the meeting area after lunch, reading together and learning about important historical figures. The Who Was series makes reading non-fiction texts fun and engaging for all. These texts are accessible for most learners.
