My students are generally first generation children of immigrants. Our school is a cultural melting pot where at least 15 different languages are spoken! The majority of my students are first generation immigrants hailing from such locations as Bangladesh, Mexico, Ukraine, Yemen and China. Over 75% of the students in my school qualify for free or reduced price lunch. These are hard working students who in many cases don't have access to the same advantages as other schools in our district. We are a big Title 1 public school with a VERY tight budget.
