They used to sleep through my first period class, tired and hungry. They don't like the food served for breakfast in the cafeteria, which was pulling them away from their learning. Now, they come to my classroom, and hit up the snack box. They pick their favorite granola bars (blueberry for An, chocolate chip for At) and go right to their seats. They ask for help, they turn work in on time, and they learn new things every day.\r\n\r\nThis would not be possible without your help and your generous donations. Headphones have been a really popular tool in the classroom for students, especially those with sensory needs. Tools such as play dough have also been helpful when students are upset, they have used it for things like calming down.\r\n\r\nPencils have also been a huge tools we've needed in our classroom. If you've worked with kids before, you know how easy it is to misplace things and pencils are one of them. Having a large amount of pencils has been helpful in allowing students to complete work. Our students have also loved the books we were able to purchase with your help. They are a favorite and are in constant rotation.
