The big books have facilitated teaching the different parts of the book. Kids get to assist in turning each page, and get extra excited when I'm sharing a big book during our read aloud. \r\n\r\nAnother giant help has been the velcro dots as well as the organizational trays purchased through this project. Since we service a lot of students with disabilities, it has been important to maintain a routine using visuals to keep kids engaged and organized. While I haven't taken many photos, the velcro dots and trays have been game changing in enabling all students to participate in what we're working on. Now, I can develop adaptations of visuals to use with students who have ASD or other processing differences. The trays have been a big help for sorting activities in addition to art, which support fine motor development.\r\n\r\nAnd last but not least, the VACUUM! I honestly cannot thank you enough for this. Having a high quality vacuum will allow us to run more fun events and do more creative activities with the kids - our first after-school story time is next Tuesday, and I know I have the tools now to keep the library looking great both before and after this event!","fullyFundedDate":1755716765755,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-clean-engaging-library-for/9441601/","projectTitle":"Creating a Clean & Engaging Library for Young Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Becca","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7792008_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1664933689935","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ps145library"},{"teacherId":2933971,"projectId":9667272,"letterContent":"Thank you for all the help in making this project come to life. As a teacher, I've always wanted to offer my students the best and a tidy classroom. Having a neat classroom with clear procedures helps minimize distractions and we end with more time for instruction. \r\n\r\nThe materials that were donated helped keep my student's working area neat. The pencil holders prevent the pencils from rolling off the desk. The sacks help keep everything they need for instruction very close by. The laminating machine helps keep sheets were use over and over in a neat manner.","fullyFundedDate":1758899040370,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-organization/9667272/","projectTitle":"Tools for Organization","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vasquez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2933971"},{"teacherId":8730859,"projectId":9079898,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping transform my classroom with your generous donation for flexible seating! The excitement in the room was unforgettable the day the materials arrived—my students' eyes lit up, and many couldn't wait to try every single seat. For my first graders, especially in a special education setting, having choices about where and how they learn makes a world of difference.\r\n\r\nSince introducing the new seating, the classroom has felt more calm, focused, and joyful. Students now get to pick what works best for their learning—whether it's a wobble stool for staying engaged during reading time, a balance ball for working on math puzzles with a friend, or a stool during independent work.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment came during a math center rotation. One of my students, who often struggles with attention and focus, chose a wobble stool and settled in with a partner to play a math fact fluency game. For the full 15 minutes, he was engaged, smiling, and participating more confidently than I'd ever seen him during math before. That small change—choosing the right seat—made a big difference in how he felt and how he learned.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating has made collaboration so much easier and more natural. Students can move around, work together, and find their own learning space. It's no longer a battle to stay seated—it's a joy to find the right spot.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we'll be using our new seating daily as we explore story elements in reading groups and practice addition and subtraction with fun math games. Thanks to you, our classroom is now more inclusive, comfortable, and responsive to each student's needs—and it's truly helping them thrive.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in my students and making this classroom feel more like a home for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1746786071487,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating/9079898/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Robinson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8730859_orig.jpg?crop=1948,1948,x537,y564&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1664487192906","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8730859"},{"teacherId":9431483,"projectId":8848843,"letterContent":"Huge success!
