Flexible seating options allow students the opportunity to build their autonomy in the classroom. This will be some of my students' first time in a school building since March 2020. With all of the changes going on in their daily lives, I would like for my students to return to class with some semblance of normality. Since they won't be able to move around the classroom as freely as before, having a choice of seating in the past will increase their comfort in the classroom.
Flexible seating options help students stay focused and engaged during class time. The products I've selected will provide my students with the ability to choose seating options daily that will benefit them best. The wobble chairs and balance balls will allow students some movement. The wobble chairs give students a chance to find lots of comfortable and ever-changing positions. The balance balls have legs to prevent them from rolling, but students can bounce while working to help them get their "wiggles" out. The comfy stools provide a soft seating option for students who would prefer to sit criss-cross applesauce while working or on a softer surface.
These flexible seating options will be a great addition to our classroom and will help ease the transition back into the building for my students.
