One of my favorite moments was seeing my freshmen light up as they flipped through their first printed Social Media Marketing workbook, saying, \"It feels real now — like college!\"\r\n\r\nMy students are currently working through certification prep for their industry exams, which include CIW Social Media Strategist, Entrepreneurship & Small Business, and PMI Project Management Ready. These certifications help them build professional skills and gain credentials they can put on their résumés immediately after passing. Because most of my students are from a lower socioeconomic background they seldom have access to technology, such as calculators at home where they can practice using the technology. Students have discovered that they are 'math people,' and it does not have to be as difficult as they perceived.\r\n\r\nStudents are more at ease when they know they have access to the calculators in class. There has been an increase in student confidence when working on assessments and assignments.
