Social emotional health is extremely important for everyone, especially our students. My students come from a variety of backgrounds with most if not all of them receiving free and reduced lunch. Many of them come from low income households where coloring books, planners and journals may be a bit of a luxury or seen as unnecessary on a parent's back to school shopping list. The coloring books prevent a way of creative expression while still remaining connected with current content in World History. Sometimes students just need a break and coloring has proven to be very effective with my students of all ages. Starting off a new school year is overwhelming enough but for some students this is another turn of their world upside down. The planners will help my students to stay organize which will in turn help reduce stress. The journals are for my students who need an outlet to just get their thoughts out and help them refocus. Thank you for your time and consideration in helping out my students this year.
