Students are much more excited to solve problems, practice skills, and share their thinking when they can work on individual whiteboards. The boards allow every student to actively participate at the same time instead of waiting for a turn, which has helped build confidence and improve understanding across all subject areas, especially math. The immediate feedback I can give while students are working has also helped me quickly identify misconceptions and adjust instruction in the moment.\r\n\r\nThe large rolling whiteboard has completely transformed the flexibility of our classroom environment. Because it can move around the room, I am able to create small group teaching spaces, model strategies more effectively, and make lessons more interactive. It has become an essential tool during collaborative activities, guided instruction, and student presentations. Having additional writing space has also helped keep lessons organized and visually clear for students.\r\n\r\nThese DonorsChoose materials have created a more hands-on, student-centered learning environment where students feel encouraged to participate, take risks, and stay engaged in their learning. The excitement students showed when the materials arrived was incredible, and they continue to use them daily. We are so grateful for the generosity and support that made these resources possible for our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1771098941350,"projectUrl":"project/building-thinkers-hands-on-stem-for-mat/9901711/","projectTitle":"Building Thinkers: Hands-On STEM for Math and Science Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6511136_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1784493436047","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/johnston2026"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67388","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":647,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":48,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":9,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":65.4,"schoolId":67388,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Poplar Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Poplar Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/coweta-county-school-district/poplar-road-elementary-school/67388"}
