The storage containers have helped us clearly organize supplies and learning tools, which has already reduced distractions and increased student responsibility during lessons.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new bookshelf and containers, they were so excited! They immediately noticed how everything had a \"place\" and were eager to help set it up. Several students proudly explored the bookshelf and commented on how easy it was to find books and materials. It has truly given them a sense of ownership and pride in their classroom environment.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these resources during daily lessons, small-group work, and independent learning time. We began introducing the new resources during our morning literacy centers, and the children were immediately drawn to the bright alphabet manipulatives, tactile letter tiles, and picture cards. One of our favorite activities has been our \"Letter Exploration Bins.\" Each bin is filled with objects that begin with a specific letter, and the children take turns sorting, naming, and matching items. It has been amazing to see how naturally they begin making letter-sound connections through play.\r\nWhen we first opened the boxes, the students' reactions were priceless. Several children cheered, some clapped, and a few crowded around the table saying, \"Look! Letters!\" They were eager to touch, try, and explore every new item. For many of them, having hands-on materials makes learning feel comforting, exciting, and accessible. Their engagement and independence during centers have grown so much because the new tools allow them to practice early literacy skills in a playful, developmentally appropriate way.\r\nOver the next few weeks, we will continue working through our alphabet sequence using these resources. Our next big step is helping each child create their own \"My Alphabet Adventure Book.\" Each week, they will add a page for the letter we are learning—drawing pictures, tracing letters, and gluing photos from our classroom alphabet hunts. By the end of the year, each child will have a special keepsake showing their growth in letter recognition and early writing. This technology allows my students to connect physical play with digital learning, which helps them build early reading and writing skills in a hands-on way. For example, when working on letter recognition, students can manipulate the Osmo letter tiles to spell simple words while watching the app respond in real time. This immediate feedback keeps them motivated and helps reinforce phonics skills in a way that feels more like play than traditional drills. The technology bridges the gap between tactile learning and digital literacy, which is especially powerful at this developmental stage.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most about the new Osmos is how it turns learning into a game. They love seeing their letters and words come alive on the screen, and many cheer or clap when they complete a challenge. The colorful graphics, interactive responses, and sense of accomplishment capture their attention far longer than paper-and-pencil tasks often do. For many of my students, the Osmo is the highlight of our literacy centers, and they are eager to rotate into that station during our daily small group time. Their excitement shows how technology, when thoughtfully integrated, can make foundational literacy skills both fun and meaningful.\r\n\r\nI have noticed that several students who are typically more hesitant with traditional literacy activities have especially warmed to the Osmos. One student, who often struggles with letter sounds, has shown newfound confidence when using the Osmo because of the instant support and encouragement it provides. Another student, who thrives on technology at home, has become a peer leader in showing classmates how to use the materials, which has built their social and leadership skills as well. This technology has created new entry points for learners of all levels, ensuring that every child can participate and grow in their literacy journey.","fullyFundedDate":1748366599666,"projectUrl":"project/osmo-magic-turning-ipads-into-learning/9360428/","projectTitle":"Osmo Magic: Turning iPads into Learning Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kissner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7768731_orig.jpg?crop=358,358,x0,y144&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1616610821856","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7768731"},{"teacherId":7768731,"projectId":9359182,"letterContent":"The new lighter chairs have already made a noticeable difference in our classroom. My students and I use them daily during circle time, small group work, and hands-on activities. Because the chairs are easy to move, students are now able to rearrange their seating independently, which encourages collaboration and flexibility in learning. For example, during our recent apple stamping art project, the children quickly moved their chairs around the tables to sit closer to their friends and share paint colors, which made the activity feel more engaging and cooperative.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new chairs, their excitement was contagious. Many of them commented on the bright, fresh look and how \"easy\" they were to carry. Several children immediately tested moving them from one side of the room to another, proudly showing off their independence. It was clear that having furniture designed for their size gave them a sense of ownership and responsibility in the classroom environment. Their reactions showed just how important it is to provide resources that meet their developmental needs.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these chairs will continue to support my students as we dive into upcoming lessons and projects. We are beginning a literacy unit where students will rotate between different learning stations, such as letter recognition games, storytelling, and fine motor activities. The new chairs make transitioning between these stations seamless and allow students to focus more on learning rather than the logistics of moving around the room. Thanks to this resource, my students are better prepared to take part in flexible, interactive learning experiences that build both independence and teamwork.","fullyFundedDate":1748367089444,"projectUrl":"project/sit-learn-grow-new-chairs-for-curiou/9359182/","projectTitle":"“Sit, Learn, Grow: New Chairs for Curious Kids”","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kissner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7768731_orig.jpg?crop=358,358,x0,y144&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1616610821856","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7768731"},{"teacherId":3295390,"projectId":9536114,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to express my gratitude enough for your donations to my classroom.
