The headphones help them focus on their work until it is their time to work at a different station. \r\nEvery year, headphones are a struggle that many teachers face. Finding some that are available and also some that are sturdy enough to be used by students without breaking. Through hands-on modeling, they were able to truly visualize the process of scaling.\r\n\r\nThe additions to my classroom library improved student engagement with small groups and book club. I was able to ensure students had a wide variety of genres and reading levels to choose from, and student learning improved through deep conversations about plot, character analysis, and descriptive writing. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, we were able to conclude our year with a conversions project-based learning activity called soda shop where students made custom soda recipes and had to convert the measurements into different units. This activity was engaging, valuable, and fun!
