Your generosity has already begun to make a real difference for my students.\r\n\r\nIn my Green Architecture class, students are given the opportunity to think and work like real-world designers and engineers. With the materials you provided, they are not just learning about concepts in theory—they are actively designing and building projects using sustainable materials and practices. This gives them a chance to apply math, science, and creativity in a way that feels authentic and meaningful.\r\n\r\nFor many students, this is the first time they've had access to tools and resources that allow them to bring their ideas to life in a hands-on way. As they sketch, measure, build, and revise their designs, they are also learning persistence, collaboration, and problem-solving skills that extend far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat makes your support especially powerful is the confidence it builds in my students. When they see their ideas turn into real structures and models, they begin to see themselves differently—not just as learners, but as capable designers, builders, and future contributors to their communities.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and investing in opportunities that allow them to learn by doing. The addition of a teleprompter to our middle school green screen class has had a clear and positive impact on student learning, especially in the production of our student-led talk show. In our classroom, the teleprompter supports literacy, public speaking, and media production skills. Students write their own scripts, revise them for clarity and pacing, and then practice reading with expression and confidence. This process strengthens their writing while also helping them develop presentation skills that feel authentic, and they no longer feel the need to memorize their scripts. As a result, their presentation is more organic and natural!\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the teleprompter is how \"professional\" it makes their work feel. They immediately recognize it as something used in real studios, which they witnessed when visiting a local news station. Instead of memorizing lines or nervously looking down at paper, they can maintain eye contact with the camera and deliver smoother performances. This has significantly improved the overall quality of our talk show—segments are more fluid, transitions are cleaner, and students take greater pride in the final product.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been especially meaningful for students who are typically shy or hesitant to speak in front of others. With the teleprompter, these students have found a sense of security and structure that helps them succeed. For example, some students who previously avoided on-camera roles are now volunteering to host an episode because they feel supported by having their script right in front of them.","fullyFundedDate":1768678613191,"projectUrl":"project/teleprompter-tool/10015836/","projectTitle":"Teleprompter Tool!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Girdner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8133916"},{"teacherId":8125674,"projectId":10039941,"letterContent":"When my students first saw the new materials, their excitement was immediate—there were smiles, curiosity, and lots of \"Can we use these today?\" moments. Students quickly found the tools that worked best for them. Some chose balance boards or stools to stay focused while working, while others used lap desks to spread out comfortably. During independent work and assessments, headphones and noise-reducing earmuffs created a calm environment where students could truly concentrate.\r\n\r\nWe've already been using these resources in daily lessons. During a recent activity, students used dry-erase boards to brainstorm ideas and revise their thinking in real time, which led to more participation and deeper discussions. The art supplies have supported creative projects, allowing students to visually represent their learning, while improved access to writing tools has helped eliminate barriers so students can stay engaged from start to finish.\r\n\r\nThese resources are helping build a classroom where students feel comfortable, focused, and confident in their learning. Moving forward, students will continue using these tools for collaborative projects, independent practice, and creative assignments. The tools have supported the development of essential skills such as communication, problem-solving, responsibility, and teamwork—skills that will benefit them well beyond their school experience.\r\nAdditionally, the presence of dedicated leadership resources has helped foster a more inclusive and engaging classroom environment. These tools have encouraged independence, and the students take great pride in their autonomy.
