The book's blend of humor, heart, and cultural identity has sparked meaningful discussions about family, heritage, and belonging. Students see themselves and their experiences reflected in the characters, which has deepened their motivation to read and share personal stories.\r\n\r\nThe format of the novel supports comprehension and vocabulary development, especially for my dual immersion students, by pairing expressive illustrations with rich text.
