We are talking about how fair is not always equal when we have students with diverse learning needs. We have done read-alouds with our emotion stories and have had really wonderful discussions about such complex social-emotional topics. They are so engaged and interested in these SEL books! \r\n\r\nFurther, to help meet these diverse needs, their flexible seating has been so helpful! Their bouncy bands and feet fidgets allow them to meet their sensory needs while remaining focused in class. Our books teach the whole class why some friends may have flexible seating while others may not need it. These two pieces are working so well together!
