The weekly readers from Scholastic have been a fun way to dive into Social Studies and Science. We had a great time learning about Veteran's Day and different ways to honor those in service. I am looking forward to the magazines about winter animals and various inventors. The kids love bringing them home to share and discuss with families. The parents love having something to talk about and look through with their children. \r\n Along with a weekly magazine kids get to take home, the subscription also comes with online resources. There is always a short related video, vocabulary words with pictures, dance or movement game, and lesson plans to extend the experience. Your gift has given more than just a take home reader, and we appreciate it. \r\n I could not have afforded to give this to my classroom on my own. I am thankful for your donation and think of you each week that we pass them out. When the kids found out they get to keep them and do not have to bring them back I saw big smiles and some kids looking impressed. It is a quality product and does not look like something I ran off the copy machine. It is nice to provide them this and hook them into literacy through engaging topics.
