My students will use these LeapStart Readers in an independent reading center. While I work with a small group on individual skills, this center will provide hands-on learning. It will be fun and educational at the same time. Students will see that reading and interacting with books comes in many forms. They will develop reading across both fiction and nonfiction as well as listening and speaking skills. LeapFrog is a reputable company with proven products. I feel that this center will be worthwhile and not just busy work or babysitting. If I can't sit and read with a child, then I feel these readers are the next best thing. I used them with my own children when they were small. I saw the durability and educational benefits.
