The addition of the social emotional area in my room has assisted my students in adjusting to a new school year. The sensory toys in that area have truly made an overwhelming time of year much easier to manage. Myself and my students are beyond appreciative for the amazing donation that you made to our room. From following visual recipes, measuring ingredients, requesting tools or assistance our students are able to practice real-world skills that directly support their speech and language goals. Baking has created a natural opportunity for turn-taking, requesting, commenting and following multi step directives.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, students were immediately engaged and excited to explore them. We have already seen a difference in the quality and success of their learning and experience, which are especially impactful for our students with significant communication and learning needs. These resources provide concrete, motivating opportunities to practice skills in a naturalistic context. \r\n\r\nOur bake sale is looking forward to continue using all these resources you so generously helped us receive.
