The markers and crayons have been especially helpful during science projects, interactive notes, and activities where students can demonstrate their learning creatively. The headphones allow students to work independently on digital assignments and learning programs without distractions, while the snacks are a wonderful support for students who may need a little extra energy during the school day. One special moment was seeing students work together on a science activity, using the new supplies to create colorful diagrams and explain their understanding of the lesson.\r\n When the materials first arrived, my students were excited to see the boxes and could not wait to explore the new supplies. They were especially excited about the headphones and snacks, and many students immediately began talking about all the ways they could use the materials. It was wonderful to see their excitement and appreciation for something that directly supports their learning.\r\n As we continue our current science lessons, students are building on what they have learned by completing hands-on activities, creating models, and explaining their scientific thinking. The next step is for students to apply their knowledge to a new classroom project where they will work collaboratively, use their creativity, and demonstrate what they have learned. The resources provided through this project will continue to help them stay engaged, participate confidently, and take pride in their work. My students and I are so grateful for these new recorders. My students were so excited when they found out we had gotten new recorders, because I had told them I wasn't sure we were going to get to play next year due to the horrible condition our school recorders were in. \r\n These recorders will absolutely be invaluable to my students who choose to go on to band in the next couple of years and the recorder will set them up for those beginning skills needed to play any wind instrument. My students were extremely excited to come into our classroom from summer break and see our ukuleles strung with these new strings. The rainbow color makes quite the visual impact against our black ukuleles. \r\n My classes are quite large, some over 30 students at a time and many of my students were becoming quite frustrated with having to wait for my attention or not being able to see exactly where to put their fingers based on seeing me demonstrate. These rainbow strings are making it much more simple for my students to be able to tell exactly where they need to be and what they need to be doing on their instruments. Their confidence has skyrocketed. \r\n With these strings, I am expecting us to be able to move at a quicker pace this year and be able to learn even more chords and songs than years prior. Originally this project was for a new xylophone for our classroom, but unfortunately the xylophone I requested was out of stock so I had to substitute some materials. Let me tell you, I think my students are even more excited about the unplanned materials than they were about the xylophones! \r\n We were able to get a full class set of hoops and a full class set of playground balls to try out some new music education ideas I've been seeing floating around on the internet - students doing group steady beat jump routines to music with the hoops and then bounce ball routines with the playground balls. We are so excited to get started! We were also able to get some more xylophone mallets so my students can double up on the xylophones that we do have so more students can play at one time, which they are very excited about. \r\n Our next steps are getting our new playground balls all inflated so we can get to working on our first bounce ball routine!
