Horseshoes is a fun recreational activity that people of all ages can play. It is so important for students to be aware of and have multiple experiences with lifetime activities/sports so they can participate in these activities as an adult to facilitate good health. My students love to play horseshoes and are noticeably more engaged and happy while playing. Horseshoes provides an opportunity to work on team skills and practice underhand tossing. This year the Covid pandemic has altered the way we learn in Physical Education. Limited use of equipment and space and social distancing has prevented my classes from participating and learning many skills. However, horseshoes is one activity my students can safely play. With spring and warm weather approaching, I would love for my students to be able to experience playing on an actual outdoor horseshoe course. The products I have selected will help my students by allowing them to play on one of eight outdoor horseshoe courses. Students can see what it is like to toss regulation horseshoes from a distance, learn how to score and work cooperatively. They can also use their knowledge and experience outside of school when playing at home or at a park.
