At my school, the transition from kindergarten to first grade is a big one, and with many big changes come big feelings. The items funded through this project including a loveseat couch, social-emotional learning books, fidgets, scented Play-Doh, and drawing paper have given my students a variety of tools and strategies to help them feel their best throughout the school day.\r\nDuring the first three weeks of school, we spent time learning how to use each strategy, trying them out, and reflecting on how we felt afterward. Many students shared that they felt \"peaceful,\" \"relaxed,\" and \"ready to learn\" after using the tools in our safe space. That is such a win! My students absolutely LOVE their safe space in our classroom and it has been so helpful in supporting their transition into first grade. \r\nThank you for choosing to invest in the well-being of my students and for supporting them as they grow into confident, capable and excited learners.
