I teach in a A/B model which means I have a group of 30 students in the morning and a different group of 30 students in the afternoon. I serve 60 children which means we are severely limited in space in the classroom. In a traditional classroom, students have a desk or an area to store their items. As of today, my students do not have storage for their books and journals. It may not be much, but it will help the children feel like their items are important. Like a home for their books. Students will be able to enter their classroom, take their book bins and find a comfy spot to read somewhere in the classroom. Some may even choose to sit on the new, clean area rug I hope to get funded, as well.
