These arts and crafts supplies will be put to good use throughout the year when my middle schoolers earn a creative break. These hands-on projects are fun, engaging, and educational and allow students the opportunity to express themselves in a unique way.\r\n The paper and watercolors were used for several art projects this quarter. My students were inspired to paint baby pumpkins, gourds, squash, and Indian corn that I brought to the classroom after visiting a pumpkin patch. After creating a work of art, they wrote a nature poem about the autumn harvest. The colorful clay was used to craft miniature versions of stone tools used by Hominids during our prehistoric history unit. The looms and needles were used to create colorful weavings.\r\n We are looking forward to using the other materials to create bracelets, landscapes, and \"Winter Trees\" in the coming months. It's so much easier to help students keep their binders organized when and easy-to-use hole puncher is right there in the classroom. Previously, we only had one in the staff copy room and one in the office, so it was really inconvenient if you needed to hole punch a lot of papers at once!
