Sometimes students need hygiene basics and are unable to afford them or run into situations where they don't have what they need with them.\r\n\r\nI was so happy to have my first visitor stop by. A student had just left gym class and was a little self conscience. He asked if I had any deodorant. I gladly directed him to the hygiene station and reminded him to wash his underarms and dry them before putting on fresh deodorant. I showed him the body wash and compressed towels and sent him to the restroom.\r\n\r\nWith your support they have brushes, combs, hair ties to style their hair. The students have deodorant and body wipes to combat the approaching spring/summer heat. I added a few items to help with any extra things I think they will need. The bulk supply of tissue is the real mvp. It is holding up in fight against germs, and looks as though it will last through the remaining school year. With spring time right around the corner, the season of allergies will soon be upon us. The tissue will be ready for the next round of runny and sneezy noses. \r\n\r\nThe wipes have not only killed the germs on surfaces, but have also combated the ongoing questionable spills and stains left behind. The students had an amazing sendoff into the winter break and the new year. The smiles stretched from ear to ear and the gleam in their eyes shown brightly.\r\n\r\nThe line stretched out the door as the student mixed their concoctions of sugar and warmth. The whip cream, marshmallows, hot chocolate, and creamer were burned through so quickly, I was amazed. I was happy to have enough to be able to restock as needed. The canisters kept everything pipping hot. I had to remind them that it was hot and to let it cool down before you drink anything.\r\n\r\nWhen the saw the food their smiles stretched even wider. Little Debbie's and pringles kept them full until lunchtime. The students truly enjoyed their sweet treats. They were pleasantly surprised as they came in the Halloween finest to be greeted by a trick or treat bag. \r\n\r\nThey giggled amongst one another and compared what was in their bags against their neighbors. The sounds of bags being open and treats being traded rang out throughout the class. Their smiles stretched from ear to ear. Not one person said they were hungry for the entire class period. With your help I am better equipped to fight the unpredictable and inevitable stream of illnesses. The tissue will be the foundation in my battle of the upcoming cold and flu season. Every year the students burn through tissue at a rate that makes no sense. Usually I run out of tissue well before November, but the mountain of tissues will last well into the new year.\r\n\r\nWith the additional PPE our defenses will be reinforced. The masks and hand sanitizer will contain germs from spreading from person to person.
