Getting to play it while we sang songs from different North American tribes helped them connect with the music in a deeper and more meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWe also learned a Pow Wow dance and explored new stories from the books you provided. Bowwow Powwow quickly became a class favorite. The students loved talking about the pets in the story and the energy of the Pow Wow celebration. My students have had so much fun using the new instruments. They have experimented with the best way to make sounds on them and tried to recreate songs they already know like Jingle Bells and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. We've been doing a big unit on the instrument families and it's been really interesting to compare the new digital instruments to traditional ones. \r\n\r\nWe are going to use these not only for our school, but for our district's STEAM night in March. This is a big night where all the students can come to our Career Center and go from station to station trying out fun experiments and technology so that all the school's can try them.
