The Big Shot Plus machine and crafting materials were essential tools in our preparation for the farmers market. Students used the machine to design and cut pieces for greeting cards, keychains, and bookmarks that paired perfectly with the vegetables they grew. One of my favorite moments was watching my students as the first die cut shapes were made, the excitement was immediate, and they began discussing new ideas and possibilities. These tools gave students the opportunity to explore their creativity, develop hands-on skills, and take pride in producing high quality work.\r\n\r\nTheir reaction on the first day was priceless. Students immediately began planning product lines and comparing ideas like they were running their own business. Your donation didn't just provide tools, it unlocked confidence, collaboration, and genuine excitement for learning. Students are thinking more critically about design, cost, materials, and how to problem solve when something doesn't turn out as expected.\r\nWe recently wrapped up a very successful farmers market in October, where students put all these skills into action. It has made things much more comfortable and more accessible for all students to work on these things and they were very excited when we received the equipment.\r\n\r\nIn my class, specifically, I have introduced some basic yoga and mindfulness. The yoga is fitness based to improve muscle endurance and flexibilty and mindfulness is to help calm and rejuvenate students. My students really enjoyed this unit and many expressed interest in learning more. Additionally, we have used the equipment for other fitness activities like circuit training, HIIT training, and EMOM training. This means the equipment is used at least once a week.\r\n\r\nI intend to continue using this equipment to help students find new ways to incorporate fitness into their lives and practice mindfulness to decrease stress and anxiety.
