I titled this project \"The Calculator that Matches the Math\" and that is exactly what these have been. Students are no longer competing for the \"good calculators\". They are reassured knowing that they can come to math class and focus on the math without worrying about their tools. \r\n\r\nThe students were all thrilled when our order arrived. I've never seen teenagers so excited for anything math related. I had to open them one box at a time so each class got to experience opening a box of new calculators. They were put to use the very same day. \r\n\r\nThere has been significant improvement in my students' math performance, specifically those that were previously struggling. Having access to the appropriate calculators has boosted their confidence, improved their understanding, and increased their ability to learn and succeed in math class. \r\n\r\nI want to thank you again. When I initially filled out this request, I was teaching at a middle school where books were also a significant need. Since then, I have moved to a high school in a rural community, and your generosity has followed me into a classroom where these books are needed more than I could have imagined. Our school has books available, but many are highly outdated, missing pages, or even missing their front covers. Having a collection of new, complete, and engaging books has made such a meaningful difference for my students.\r\n\r\nMy students now have the opportunity to choose books that are appropriate for their age and that actually interest them. In our classroom, reading is about building much more than reading skills. Students are practicing comprehension, vocabulary, making inferences, finding evidence, understanding different perspectives, and discussing characters and themes. For some of my students, reading has been a struggle for a long time, so being able to choose a book that catches their attention can help them experience success and build confidence. Seeing students pick up a new book, become interested in the story, and want to keep reading is exactly what I hoped these books would make possible.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful that you chose to support my students. Your donation has given them something they deserve: access to books that are engaging, complete, current, and written for them. These books are already becoming an important part of our classroom, and I know they will be read and enjoyed by many students for years to come. Thank you for helping my students see that books can be more than an assignment—they can be a source of learning, connection, imagination, and enjoyment.","fullyFundedDate":1747107047092,"projectUrl":"project/pages-to-different-dimensions/9312608/","projectTitle":"Pages to Different Dimensions","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. April Hadley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8377588_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1784692029618","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8377588"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_33261","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":749,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":81,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":77.5,"schoolId":33261,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about North Sanpete High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"North Sanpete High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/utah/north-sanpete-school-district/north-sanpete-high-school/33261"}
