Your donation has made a profound difference in our classroom environment and, most importantly, in our students' daily learning experience.\r\n\r\nAs an ELA teacher, I have been disappointed in recent trends that show a lack of reading by children, opting for electronic entertainment instead. I am commited to providing an opportunity for every student to \"fall in love\" with a book, which means offering many opportunities for hands-on reading. Because of this trend, we engage in Sustained Silent Reading at the beginning of every class period.\r\n\r\nHowever, we have been struggling with a serious lack of adequate storage space for our SSR classroom library. Now, with our new, beautiful bookcases, students have the invaluable opportunity to choose and read a unique book that genuinely interests them!\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, we now have the necessary shelving and organizational materials to properly house our diverse collection of novels and reading materials. This collection spans all genres—including graphic novels, which are often the gateway to reading for students who might otherwise struggle to engage. I carefully selected these books for their high interest and diverse range of Lexile levels, ensuring they are accessible and appealing to every student, regardless of their current reading proficiency.\r\n\r\nHaving proper storage has transformed a cluttered corner into an inviting, accessible \"bookstore\" atmosphere, making it easier for students to browse, discover new favorites, and treat this reading time with the respect and joy it deserves.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for investing in the literary development and educational success of our Niu Valley Middle School students. The students (and I!) are thrilled. Your kindness is truly appreciated.\r\n\r\nWarmly,\r\n\r\nRobin Bradley\r\n6th grade ELA Teacher\r\nNiu Valley Middle School","fullyFundedDate":1771690216169,"projectUrl":"project/the-plot-thickens-creating-the-perfect/10108446/","projectTitle":"The Plot Thickens - Creating the Perfect Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bradley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9346513"},{"teacherId":3274580,"projectId":10107269,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution. I have been making students brightly colored cover sheets for each unit to help them organize. The cardstock I received has been used for this purpose and the students love the bright, fun colors! We have used it for a couple SEL projects and students were able to add fun photos of themselves to our classroom SEL decor and also their New Year's goal crafts. \r\n\r\nWe've appreciated all of the donations so much but these three really stood out in daily use and I hear the most gratitude from students.
