Flexible seating allows students to choose the most comfortable learning positions that work for them. Students move around in class throughout the day to work in partners, groups or independently. Depending on the learning task or activity, students decide the best location and seating arrangement that helps them get the work done. Student voice and choice are essential components in motivating them. The students in our class have expressed a desire for more seating options beyond the floor or at their desks. As their teacher, I hope to honor their voices and maximize their motivation. The beanbag chairs I have selected will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options and begin the transformation of our learning environment. Learning will undoubtedly be enhanced!
