Roz does such a wonderful job of helping us understand our own emotions as she faces challenges and grows into a creature who learns to care for others instead of simply following her programming.\r\n\r\nThis book was also such a fun way to teach adaptations and cause and effect. Concepts that can sometimes feel abstract suddenly became more meaningful as my students connected them to Roz's experiences. Through this story, my students grew not only as readers, but as people. It opened up conversations about emotions, empathy, problem-solving, and what it means to care for others, all while connecting to important science and ELA concepts.\r\n\r\nCreating their own robots was the cherry on top! My students got to think about what makes a robot successful, put their ideas to the test, and learn through hands-on experiences. Having their own copies of the book and the opportunity to bring their ideas to life made this project even more special.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for pouring into our future. Your generosity gave my students opportunities to learn, create, ask questions, and see themselves as problem-solvers. Because of donors like you, we are helping shape a generation of well-rounded children who will hopefully lead the world a little more like Roz—with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to care for others.","fullyFundedDate":1778227068140,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-stories-to-life-the-wild-robot/10241821/","projectTitle":"Bringing Stories to Life: The Wild Robot","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Green","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4435883_orig.jpg?crop=348,348,x18,y83&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777556430461","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4435883"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_32226","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":593,"numTeachers":53,"percentFrplEligible":59,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":7,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":43.4,"schoolId":32226,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Hope Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"New Hope Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/henry-county-schools/new-hope-elementary-school/32226"}
