Last year my kindergartners sat on a tile floor because there was no rug in our classroom. I believe that the requested carpet will cultivate a sense of community and provide a welcoming and inviting environment for the students. I want my students to enjoy coming to school and to feel like they belong. I feel that a classroom environment is a big factor for how students feel about school. Many of my students have their first school experience in my classroom and I believe that it is critical in kindergarten to help students love coming to school and love learning.
