Students choose a cozy spot, grab a book that matches their reading level or interest, and settle in. One of my favorite moments so far was watching two reluctant readers curl up in the soft seating, completely absorbed in graphic novels they chose themselves.\r\n\r\nTheir faces lit up the moment they walked in and saw the new seating and book selections. Several students whispered, \"Is this really for us?\" and immediately rushed to explore the shelves. The cozy lighting and comfortable chairs made them feel like they were stepping into their own mini library. Many of them said it felt \"calm,\" \"safe,\" or \"like home\"—exactly what I hoped for.\r\n\r\nOur next step is simply to continue providing a peaceful area where students can read comfortably and have real choice in what they read. The stickers are also a popular incentive, and students love decorating their planners with them, kind of like a badge of honor for a job well done. I can't wait to see how much these students continue to grow this school year.
