Because of you, our class was able to utilize the STEM materials you provided. Last fall, we completed a STEM activity that also celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month. We studied Frida Kahlo and the students got to brainstorm, sketch, and build a sturdy paintbrush with certain materials. Then they tested them out by painting self portraits with them. We got to discuss our challenges, what worked well and what changes we would make. It was a wonderful learning experience for them! \r\nI am also continuing to communicate with families every week by sending home a weekly newsletter informing them of the curriculum we will be studying and events coming up. We have it in our blocks and building center. Our students are learning how to take turns and share using these motivating materials. \r\n Our students are also learning how to play with cars appropriately pushing them on a street and parking them in parking spaces. They love the buildings and driving the cars through them and also using them to identify community buildings: police, hospital, gas stations, school. \r\n Thank you for the generous donation for this project. As long as I will be teaching we will always have a pet in this habitat for our students.
