We've been using the floor desks, cushions, and floor seats daily during small group reading, whole group instruction and independent work time. One specific project where the seating has been especially helpful is during our guided reading rotations. Students are now able to choose a spot where they feel comfortable and focused, which has noticeably improved their engagement and stamina for reading.\r\nTheir reactions when the materials first arrived were priceless—many students couldn't believe that they were allowed to choose their own seat instead of being \"stuck\" at a desk. I heard comments like, \"This feels like home!\" and \"I can concentrate better here!\" Their excitement turned into responsibility as they quickly learned how to make choices that help them be successful learners. It was wonderful to watch them take ownership of their learning environment.\r\nLooking ahead, we are beginning a nonfiction reading project where students will research animals and create presentations to share with the class. The flexible seating will continue to play a big role as students collaborate in groups, spread out for research, and practice presenting. These new resources have not only changed the way our classroom feels but have also supported a more student-centered approach to learning.","fullyFundedDate":1731517057441,"projectUrl":"project/flexibility-for-future-leaders/8573331/","projectTitle":"Flexibility for Future Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Richardson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9632099_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723158722802","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9632099"},{"teacherId":6533616,"projectId":9401900,"letterContent":"First let me take the time to thank you for your donation. My students and I are so appreciative of your gift. \r\nThe privacy shields have helped us at this beginning of the school year, three times now (already). We've had our first set of classroom assessments and I used these shields as a way of concentrating. I know most teachers use them as a way to prevent \"cheating\"; but I wanted my students to be able to concentrate without distractions. And it was a huge success! So much so, that now they actually ask to use their privacy shields. They were able to decorate them and make them a bit more personal as well. \r\nAgain, thank you for the opportunity to offer my students this helpful tool.","fullyFundedDate":1752671653639,"projectUrl":"project/fostering-learning-with-concentrated-lea/9401900/","projectTitle":"Fostering Learning with Concentrated Learning Tools","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sylver","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6533616"},{"teacherId":9439142,"projectId":9127440,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my project, Turning Pages, Sparking Imaginations: Chapter Books for Young Readers!
