I have many students that have benefitted from this space. When they are feeling any big emotions, they have been able to use this space to calm their minds and their bodies. It has allowed multiple students to develop strategies that have helped them to calm down. \r\n\r\nWhen they are feeling angry, they can use the breathing pal to refocus on their breathing. They use the timers to help them keep track of how long they have been back there. The lap bad is the most commonly used item. The place it on their lap and the weight of it helps them to calm any anxiety they are feeling.\r\n\r\nMany times when a student is overstimulated they can feel angry or frustrated. This has been an amazing resource in our classroom. The kids are able to read fun stories about so many fun and interesting topics. They get to watch videos about the topic, often presented buy the author of the story. \r\nThey are learning so many new vocabulary words, which is helping their fluency. They are also gaining a better understanding of main idea and key events. Their comprehension skill are also improving. \r\nI am seeing a lot of growth in their individual writing, as they implement a lot of the things they are learning. \r\n\r\nThank you for supporting my class with this amazing resource.
