And the book about \"poopy science\" and the science comic book have been a huge hit for the older readers. Our swivel seats, chair rockers, and foot cushions have already made a wonderful difference for my students. These resources give students who need to move while they work a way to do so without distracting themselves or others. During independent reading, writing, and math activities, students are able to choose the seating option that helps them feel comfortable and focused. It has been so exciting to see students recognize what works best for their bodies and take more ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were so excited to try them! We talked about how these tools are not toys, but resources that help our bodies stay comfortable so our brains can focus on learning. I have already seen students who tend to wiggle or move frequently become more settled and engaged when they have an appropriate way to move while working.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, my students will keep using these resources during a variety of classroom activities. We are learning how to make responsible choices about which seating option helps us do our best work, and I love seeing my second graders become more independent in recognizing what they need to be successful. Thank you for helping create a classroom where every student can learn in a way that works best for them. Our old non-fiction section was super outdated and honestly, just wasn't getting the kids excited.\r\n\r\nThese new ones are so bright and colorful that they literally caught the kids' eyes from across the room! They are flying off the shelves, and our 1st and 2nd graders are completely obsessed.\r\n\r\nI've found the best way to hook new readers is with awesome non-fiction. It made for a memorable lessons and helped them to see the food chain in action. \r\n\r\nWe have since started learning about the earth and will be learning about volcanoes.
