In Pre-K we have 2 recesses a day, which is very exciting for our students. Unfortunately, the weather doesn't always allow for us to go outside. The children love to go outside and are always disappointed when we can't. Some days we have the option to use the gym but on the days we can't we have to stay in the classroom. Staying inside for recess can be a little boring sometimes and I want to give the children a better indoor recess experience. So, I've gathered some great indoor play equipment that can be used in the gym or in the classroom.
When children have time to move their bodies freely during recess they tend to be more engaged during the school day. The bowling, ring, bean bag toss, and hopscotch will be great for setting up a carnival type area and help promote coordination. The scooter boards and kick balls will be beneficial in helping with each student's motor skills. The students will also be able to use the scooter boards to help build their arm and leg muscles. I'm extremely excited about the parachutes, because there are many different ways we can use them. We can use these as a whole class or in small groups.
