To some this may be a simple coat rack but to our classroom it is a headphone station and possibly the great structure to ever be built. They are so proud of themselves! I did not plan for the students to put it together, but one saw the box and was very interested and it became and indoor recess project of choice for them. They worked together to sort pieces, identify them in the visual instructions, and took turns with screws. This was an unexpected joy of this project I never expected and will inspire more engineering projects in the future. \r\n\r\nThe rack itself is already a successful addition to our classroom. The students took pride in putting it together but also now hanging their headphones up with care. No tangled cords! They can find their hanging bags easily and the two sizes helps with smaller and larger pairs all fitting inside nicely. Our extra headphones are ready as well in their own bags students can access easily. Thank you so much for helping us with this project, it sparked so much in my class and is an organizational dream.","fullyFundedDate":1766960118310,"projectUrl":"project/homes-for-headphones-love-to-listen/9901274/","projectTitle":"Homes for Headphones: Love to Listen","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Berryman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6222513_orig.png?crop=206,206,x1,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753298237720","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sberryman"},{"teacherId":3902931,"projectId":9748865,"letterContent":"I cannot begin to express the gratitude I have for your generous donation to my class. When I opened the boxes with my students...the squeals of excitement warmed by heart. My students were beyond excited to dive into these books. I had the opportunity to loop with my students from fourth to fifth grade and these books traveled with us.\r\n\r\nAs part of developing strong life-long readers, it is vital to have books that students REALLY WANT TO READ. They want to share their reading experience with their classmates and share with their families. This impact to reading has made reluctant readers more eager to try a new book and challenge the higher achieving readers to explore outside their comfort zone. Daily, students have an opportunity to read independently and for pleasure. As a result students are growing their vocabulary and fluency. This would not be possible without a library that appeals to all readers. \r\n\r\nA million thanks for bringing joy to our classroom through the gift of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1765301321780,"projectUrl":"project/picture-books/9748865/","projectTitle":"Picture Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wiegmann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3902931_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1524674560465","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3902931"},{"teacherId":6222513,"projectId":9447975,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our classroom with supplies that have led to great student success. Some of the requested items were unavailable at funding, but we were able to replace them with other supplies that supported our classroom. For example, we were able to get putty and letter beads that have aided students with fine-motor skills that assist in pencil grip, and therefor handwriting. We also have a new mini bookcase that the students absolutely love that I place current seasonal interest books into. They consider this \"their\" special bookcase and bring in things from home and outside to decorate it. This ownership over the books and space has increased their desire to read and write their own stories to add to the shelf. The folders have kept organized as it travels to and from home. Recently changes that affect our community household's have even further limited the food family's purchase or can access.
