I am a firm believer in growth, and that the way to grow is to challenge ones self. In my classroom, I have some very high students who are currently not being challenged with the first grade supplies in my room. Since I want all of my students to show growth, I am asking for chapter books, binders, and dividers that will be used for literacy circle (which is a HUGE skill to be working on in first grade!) These students will all have a role in their group, and they will have to work together to read, and pick apart different elements of the books they are reading. This project will not only help student reading skills, it was also be teaching them a lot about collaboration and how to work as a team.
