For the AP Biology classes, human body systems are not part of the curriculum, however, we completed the dissection and overview of the body systems because many students mentioned they would like to enter the medical field. For the Human Physiology classes, the dissection was a way for students to see all of the body systems \"connected\" to each other and it also helped students demonstrate all of the material they remembered throughout the course since I had them point out different body parts and their importance as part of their \"final exam\". Seriously, your help getting us the 3D printer, whiteboards, timers, and markers gives our Community Based Instruction (CBI) students the exact tools they need to see real tech and collaboration in action right here in our classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, our kids are getting way more than just a standard school activity. I love serving our Mililani community, and seeing our local kids get these kinds of opportunities means the world. This project is giving them huge benefits for their learning:\r\n\r\n- Creativity & Design: With colorful markers, students actually got to use their imagination to design and print their own stuff, such as our class motto design for \"We are a team that works hard together!\"\r\n\r\n- Cooperation: Our learners worked together to learn how to use and collaborate with one another on big projects, with the use of the new tools.\r\n\r\n- Value of Time: We used the new timers to help stay on task. In CBI, that's a functional skill! Learning time management and planning is so huge for them being ready for life after high school.\r\n\r\n- Having Fun: Fostering these tech skills in a caring classroom lets our kids just have genuine fun while learning skills they can actually use at home or out in the community.\r\n\r\nOther faculty members on campus were also impressed by the equipment and had so many kind words about our kids' creative potential. They're already looking forward to partnering with our CBI students on more stuff in the future. Now, students, can sit comfortably and stay focused and on task.\r\n\r\nThe display boards were just as meaningful. We used them for our fast fashion project \"True Cost of a T-Shirt: Exploring Environmental Sustainability in Fashion.\", where students explored the global impact of clothing production, labor conditions, and consumer choices. When students first saw the boards, they were surprised it was provided for them, and several mentioned how helpful that they didn't need to buy one. After the display board project was finished, students walked around, view each other's work, ask questions, and make connections to what they learned. Your support has made a real difference. Mon. May 24, 2026\r\n\r\nThank you, gracias mil and mahalo for donating the clay, play dough, and other art materials help push along a project I've always wanted to upgrade! I did this project once before but I always wanted to have clay accessible to ALL of my students. As I have done in the past, students are to build their \"criaturas magicas\" or their (The recycled materials they gather are from home, etc, and SOME groups might have air dry clay; but not all.) The projects that used clay just looked so much better. I couldn't wait for my students to all have equal access to clay! They were so excited. Attached here are some in class photos of the process of the project from beginning to end as well as some slides of their completed projects. Again, we are so very grateful for the opportunity to try something new and the project went PERFECTLY for the end of the school year when kids are getting so restless for summer. I will definitely have to incorporate more hands-on clay projects in the future for the end of the quarter type of days when the kids need the hands on activities! The students were really excited to see that they got \"ALL this clay?!\" for their projects. You could see their wheels turning with possibilities about what to create when they saw the cylinders of clay out in my classroom.\r\nPart of the project was to research 3 different animals from Spanish speaking countries and then they had to use their newly learned body parts vocabulary to create a mythical creature or an \"alebrije\" that would help them solve an issue in that Spanish speaking country. I will have attached some of the student work in a slide so you may view some of the coolest things they came up with! Another component of the project was to upload photos of their creations and turn them into \"stickers\" or transparent images so their creature could fly all over the world solving issues with their magic and also visiting famous monuments, landmarks, spending currency and also stopping to eat local dishes. There was a lot of learning and fun to be had with this project!\r\nThank you again, we are so grateful! This was my very first time being chosen as a recipient from Donors Choose and I am so excited. All of the donations have made it possible to create that positive environment. \r\n\r\nThey sensory stickers offer a positive coping strategy for students who are feeling overwhelmend, stress or emotional. We were able to provide every 10th grader with a sensory sticker. Along with the sensory stickers the granola bars were also great ways to provide students nourshiment when they missed meals and when they were not feeling well and it was also a great way to build positive relationships with students. When the boxes arrived in our classroom, the kids were absolutely stoked. There's nothing quite like the buzz of energy in a room when students see fresh, high-quality gear waiting for them. Seeing a brand-new setup of Posca markers and a solid laminator immediately got them excited and eager to dive into our upcoming projects.\r\n\r\nWe have already been putting these resources to serious use, and they have genuinely leveled up what we can do in class. The students used the vibrant Posca markers to craft custom World History board games completely from scratch, as well as sharp signage for our school events. Hanging their durable, professional-looking work around the room has given them a huge sense of pride.\r\n\r\nHonestly, even the supply of Kleenex has been a total game-changer for our daily grind.
