We are a school/classroom with many diverse cultures, and many walk into first grade without ever have eaten a taco. Sure, they love pizza and know all about it. But, tacos? Well, we fix that right away. Our classroom library WAS a little thin when it came to taco books. Not anymore thanks to you.\r\n\r\n Our taco theme in the classroom is fun, but it also serves as a vehicle to engage the students. We play taco games, we have taco costumes, taco stuffies and stickers, and now plenty of books (on many levels) about tacos. The students love reading these fun taco books. We \"book shop\" each morning to pick 3 books per student to work with, and the taco books are generally the first to go. Thanks to you and the folks at Humble Hearts, we now also have more taco games and taco costumes!\r\n\r\n This love turned knowledge of tacos culminates at the end of the year when all write a classroom book (each student gets a page to write and a page to draw) called \"Alien Meets Taco\" in which they have to describe a taco to an alien from another planet.
